FAQ

How do you add VAT to a price?

To add VAT, multiply the net price by 1 plus the VAT rate. For 20% VAT, gross price = net price × 1.20.

How do you remove VAT from a gross price?

To remove VAT, divide the gross price by 1 plus the VAT rate. For 20% VAT, net price = gross price ÷ 1.20.

What’s the difference between net and gross?

Net is the price before VAT. Gross is the price after VAT is added.

Can I use a custom VAT rate?

Yes — choose “Custom…” and enter a percentage. This is useful for historical rates or non-UK calculations.
